FAQs
-
Opioids are a class of drugs that act on the nervous system to reduce the sensation of pain and produce feelings of relaxation. They include prescription medications such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, and fentanyl, as well as non-prescription substances like heroin. Because opioids affect the brain’s reward system, they can lead to physical dependence. Our team provides care and support for individuals who are using or have used opioids and are seeking recovery services.
-
Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and support services to treat opioid addiction. It helps reduce cravings, prevent relapse, and support long-term recovery.
-
MOUD medications balance brain chemistry, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and block the euphoric effects of opioids. This makes it easier for patients to engage in counseling, peer support, and lifestyle changes.
-
Many people who use heroin or other opioids worry about feeling sick during withdrawal. MOUD is designed to prevent that. The medications we use—such as methadone, buprenorphine (Suboxone, Sublocade) or naltrexone (Vivitrol)—help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. When taken as prescribed under medical supervision, MOUD stabilizes the body so you can focus on recovery without going through the severe sickness of withdrawal.
-
Hope and Healing Clinic accepts Medicaid and Medicare. For those without insurance or those with financial concerns, our on-site financial navigators can help explore coverage and payment options. Our goal is to ensure cost is never a barrier to receiving life-saving treatment.
-
The length of treatment varies. Some people may use MOUD short-term, while others benefit from longer-term or ongoing support. Treatment plans are individualized and made with your provider.
-
No. MOUD uses safe, regulated medications under medical supervision. These treatments stabilize patients, improve health, and support recovery. They are proven to reduce overdose risk and improve quality of life.
-
Anyone over the age of 18 struggling with opioid use disorder may qualify. Our care team will provide an assessment and help determine if MOUD is the right fit.
-
Yes. We believe MOUD is most effective when paired with counseling, behavioral health care, and peer support services—all of which we offer onsite.
-
Yes. Our licensed SUDPs can complete comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments to meet court, probation, or treatment program requirements.
-
Relapse can be part of the recovery journey, and it doesn’t mean treatment has failed. If a relapse happens, our team will work with you to adjust your care plan, increase support, and make sure your safety comes first. Continuing MOUD after a relapse still lowers the risk of overdose and can help you get back on track. At Hope and Healing Clinic, we meet patients with compassion and support—never judgment.
