Who Provides Peer Support?

Our peer services are led by certified peer support specialists who combine professional training with personal recovery experience. Their role is to listen, encourage, and guide—not to judge—so that patients always feel supported and understood.

How to Get Started:

  • Ask your provider or counselor about connecting with a peer support specialist. Together, you’ll set goals, schedule sessions, and decide how peer support can best fit into your recovery plan.

FAQs

  • Peer support is provided by Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) who have lived experience with recovery. Their role is to walk alongside you with encouragement, mentorship, and guidance. Mental Health Therapy, on the other hand, is provided by licensed professionals who deliver clinical therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Both services complement each other and can be used together for stronger outcomes.

  • Peer support services are led by Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) who combine personal recovery experience with professional training. They understand the challenges of substance use and provide compassionate, judgment-free support.

  • Sessions may involve sharing experiences, discussing recovery strategies, setting goals, or connecting you with community resources such as housing or employment assistance. Sessions are always tailored to your needs.

  • Yes. Peer support follows the same strict confidentiality standards as all clinic services, in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

  • Simply talk to your provider or counselor, and they can connect you with a certified peer support specialist. You can also view upcoming group sessions on our [Live Peer Support Calendar] and join directly.
